When you choose Maggard Memorials and Laser Art Technology (in Lebanon, OH) to create your custom monuments, you work with professionals who bring decades of experience to every project. Amanda Maggard-Ramsey, the CEO and President, began her career in granite memorials in 1996 by working with her parents in the Lebanon office. Amanda took over the family business in 2009.
Today, Amanda owns and operates Maggard Memorials and Laser Art Technology with her husband, Nathan Ramsey, who does all engraving and setting of memorials. Since joining the business, Nathan has learned vital information about sandblasting and managing the company’s relationships with local cemeteries. Amanda and Nathan have been blessed with three children: Kyle, Kayli and Kolton.
What you’ll love about Amanda is how much she genuinely cares about your family! You are not a sale. You are not a transaction. You are not an appointment. You are a spouse, child, parent, grandparent, sibling, or friend of a missed loved one. You are a person. You are a soul with ideas on how to honor your loved one – and together, we’ll collaborate on a one-of-a-kind design to memorialize them! She fuels the company’s motto of “Where you’re treated like family… and your business won’t be taken ‘for granite’!” with her passion to celebrate the life lived, not just mourn the life lost. Amanda touches every step of your granite’s process – from design to production to scheduling installation.
What you’ll notice about Nate is that he’s everywhere at once. We run lean to offer the best prices possible – so with few staff, one person wears many hats. When you arrive for a design consult, he’ll likely be moving granite around the lot with the forklift, sandblasting, running the laser, or loading the truck for a day of monument installs. He may be adding some final dates to existing stones or quoting someone for headstones in need of repair. If you want to see who will actually be handling your loved one’s stone… it’s him! Not a contracted third-party or behind-the-scenes crew… one of the owners himself!
One of the company’s founders, Clayton is the MLA patriarch and a proud U.S. Army Veteran, having been awarded The Solder’s Medal! He successfully ran the monument shop in Lebanon, OH. There, he built lasting relationships with cemeteries and funeral homes who, to this day, still ask if Clayton is in the business. We’re proud to answer, “Yes!” When he’s not making home visits for families who can’t drive or travel to our shop, he’s Nate’s right-hand-man helping around the display lot or installing monuments. You may see him in the cemetery getting a stone rubbing for Amanda so she can stencil up a final date order or he may be installing a vase being added to a loved one’s monument. When you love your work, there’s no such thing as retirement!
The other company’s founder, Linda is the MLA Matriarch! With Clayton, she built such a loving business that her daughter Amanda couldn’t help but want to work here too! Linda manages our accounting and payroll while also maintaining long-time relationships with funeral homes. The keeper of all records, Linda is always amazed at the growing number of families we get to serve year over year! If you get a letter or flyer in the mail from Maggard, it’s because Linda wanted you to know that we’re here ready to serve you in your time of need!
Allison joins Maggard after 11 years in public safety technology with Warren County. After unexpectedly losing her father, she saw what it felt like to be on the other side of our desk, and how important it was to have honest, loving, people in this industry. It was at that moment that she felt called to serve families grieving the loss of a loved one. Fast forward 2 years and God aligned Amanda and Allison’s paths! Her title, a tribute to the ministry she never got to start with her father, allows Allison to serve families, educate them on the process, design unique headstones that tell their loved one’s story, liaison with cemeteries, and leave a lasting impression of their loved one!
